Retouching Images

The Spot healing tool is great for making minor and less notable changes to your images such as removing paint stains on a plain white shirt. The Image from Spiderman 3 before using the spot heal, Spiderman's suit had tears and his skin was exposed which also had scratches as shown below the edited image. The retouched image on top of the original had the suit fixed by mainly using the spot healing tool and some of the clone stamp because the spot healing tool has certain limitations. The Spot healing tool only generates certain textures which is more confined than the stamp tool which allows you to select certain parts of the image to clone. Which is why the webbing seems off-putting from the shoulder until his hands.

The lasso tool when using content aware is an amazing tool to use when removing objects from an image. With the Clone stamp tool, both tools can improve or alter an image tremendously. I used the lasso tool to remove the umbrella, the two yellow objects, and the shadow casted by the umbrella using the lasso tool. In addition I used the clone stamp tool to remove the sand that was dug up which was probably there since there had to be a hole to the place the umbrella. Another detail I decided to add when using the clone stamp tool is cloning the wave that hits the shore and placing it along the shore the of the beach to make the waves seem stronger and more evident. To make it seem as if the water was actually moving when the image was taken.

For this image I strictly used the clone stamp tool which is used to clone certain subjects or textures of an image to be added again within the same image. I had chosen this pic of a single bowling pin(original image) and decided to fill up the empty space with bowling pins there are usually there by default. Being careful with this tool is essential since you don't want to clone more than thee figure being selected or else it would show textures or destroy other parts of the original image . Which is the reason why I had distanced the bowling pins enough to actually clone and place them correctly. Overall this came out great but I would like to learn how to add a reflection to the floor to make the pins even more realistic. Furthermore It would be nice to learn to use the other spot healing tools and clone stamp tools to perfect the image and cloning technique.
