Brand Type Pairing

Many fonts were extremely similar to the univers 65 bold font however these typefaces are similar in their own ways. Calibri shares the similar letter proportion to Univers 65 bold since they are uncondensed, bolded , and tall san serif fonts. Line quality however is more similar to the bahnschrift font which is a sans serif font however the line quality is nearly identical to the univers font, for instance on the apex of the A is longer and flat than the average apex of the A which is usually pointy. Then in terms of historic period, Univers 65 used for "Volta" was invented in the late 1950's precisely 1957 by Adrian Frutiger. The Helvetica typeface was made in 1957  by Swiss typeface designer Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann. Both typefaces are neo grotesque classified. Complementary mood for both Agency fb typeface and Universe 65 is that both are neo grotesque making them modern, casual, confident, and Assertive when put together with the Univers typefa...

Retouching Images

Image
The Spot healing tool is great for making minor and less notable changes to your images such as removing paint stains on a plain white shirt. The Image from Spiderman 3 before using the spot heal, Spiderman's suit had tears and his skin was exposed which also had scratches as shown below the edited image. The retouched image on top of the original had the suit fixed by mainly using the spot healing tool and some of the clone stamp because the spot healing tool has certain limitations. The Spot healing tool only generates certain textures which is more confined than the stamp tool which allows you to select certain parts of the image to clone. Which is why the webbing seems off-putting from the shoulder until his hands.          The lasso tool when using content aware is an amazing tool to use when removing objects from an image. With the Clone stamp tool, both tools can improve or alter an image tremendously. I used the lasso tool to rem...

Non-Destructive Image Adjustments

Image
Gradient Gradient adjustment layer was an interesting tool since you can alter the gradients color but it's proximity as well. Originally it was 90 degrees which the gradient started from the left side and moved towards the right and it was the color black. I decided to make the color lighter and completely reflect the position of the gradient by moving it 180 degrees. The end result was the inverse of the original gradient default which I find to be more appealing when the gradient was starting from the right and reaching towards the left. Brightness Using brightness was a simple and yet effective adjustment layer. It can really improve an image as shown here when I lowered the brightness to make the image seem slightly more dim and but less reflective of the light. I found the original image too bright which is why I choose to darken the image so we see more of the colors of the magazine less intrusive light. In retrospect I still believe I made the correct choice in darkening th...

Masks Layers

Image
Using masks requires a lot of effort and attention to detail. The objects I chose were at random and have no sort of deep meaning or context. However the backgrounds in all 3 compositions do have context behind them. For composition I decided to use my black pen and then duplicate it to 6 times but put a looseleaf paper as the background since it makes sense to have a writing utensil with paper since that's what a writing utensil is for, to write on paper. Then for Composition 2 was a peculiar yet rational and completely understandable, I masked the clorox wipes and hand sanitizer , then faded the clorox wipes it to reveal the hand sanitizer dispenser. The background chosen was bubbles and blue water since I am using two sanitation products which are clorox wipes and hand sanitizer so using a background that has a "clean/sanitation" promoting look just seemed fitting to me. Then for composition 3 I kept the background image of the desk since it fits with the mo...
